Some important essentials to take:
- Sandal: Meghalaya is world’s most rainfall area. Also you are going to see the waterfalls. So should choose your sandal carefully. Don’t wear sneaker or leather shoe. Instead wear a light weight open type sandal. This will help you a lot. Because it will dry quickly and will not smell bad like sneaker. Another thing to keep in mind is your sandal should have a good grip. Otherwise you will fall and get hurt. Go check this list of sandals. These are specially listed for this kind of situation. Boys can choose from here. And ladies check this list.
- Backpack: You can take any kind of bag as you wish. But especially for weather in Meghalaya you should take a backpack that has extra capacity and water resistance facilities. Since anytime it can start raining you should keep some extra dry clothes with you and a towel. Here are my personal choices of backpack. You can check this out. But try to take a good one.
- Take an umbrella or raincoat: Yes. You should take one. Either an umbrella or a raincoat. You don’t want to get cold or cough. Besides your tour can ruin only for lack of an umbrella. Keep a small and light weight umbrella it will worth it.
- Take a small first aid box: The weather of Meghalaya is rainy and foggy. In the July or August anytime can start raining or anytime the cloud can cover the whole sky. Weather is pretty wild here. So cold and fever can get you. But don’t worry. Take a first aid medicine box and keep paracetamol and cold syrup in it. Beside this, take some bandage and antiseptic liquid. By chance you fall in a slippery rocks, it will help you a lot.
- Take toilet paper and small soap: You will be travelling all the day. So keep this two important thing in your backpack. So anytime you need it you don’t have to worry. This things are small but effective.
