Minimalism | The Art of a Better Life

Minimalism-the-art-of-a-better-life

In the last few years people have talked a lot about minimalism. So many people have grabbed the idea of minimalism and started living a life with this idea. But some people took it wrong. In my blog, I have basic two parts. In one part I always write about traveling. Where you can travel, what you should know about traveling and what you need to travel. And another basic part is improvements. In this part I try to write about how you can improve your life. Actually these two things guide to improve human mind and soul. This is the reason I write two different topic in one blog.

Today I will tell you about minimalism. What this thing is. How this can impact in your life. And how you can start a minimalist life. This is just some basic ideas of minimalism. But you can learn about it by practicing it.

What is Minimalism

In a simple word minimalism is, “Whatever the most important things in our life is to keep them and exclude everything else”. In other words, to keep a clear concept of everything that is so important in our life and live with them. At the same time exclude everything that always distract us from our focus. This doesn’t mean that you have to live a life like monk. No higher education, no job or business or no personal home. In fact, this is not the concept of minimalism. You will go to college, do job or business and make home of your own. But you have to keep a clear concept of what is your basic need and what is luxury. You need a sweet home, but you don’t need a luxury villa. You can spend some time with your family by fishing, but you don’t need to buy a yacht. You don’t need to buy every new version of smart gadget. A basic phone will do your things. This clear concept is actual minimalism.

Why Choose Minimalism

In this modern world every man and woman is working like a hell. I think a concept of 9-5 job is gone so long ago. Now everyone is working as much as they can. May be at least 12 hours. People are working in office, in home and most shockingly in restaurant or in a car too! But more surprising thing is, their work never ends. After this huge work load, people can’t even have a sound sleep because of the next day’s tension. Why this? This corporate world is teaching us, you have to earn a lot. You have buy a big house (what you actually don’t need). If it’s possible, buy several house. Buy several cars for every member of your family. Buy luxury jewelry, gadget, and furniture and show them off to the society. This is your ultimate goal of your life. This is happiness. This is your victory. Do you really think so?

This is not actually victory. This is a never ending race. You will run your entire life but your race will not finish. You will buy a car. But you will be unhappy to see that your neighbor has two cars. You will buy a 200$ watch. Then you will see your friend has a 1000$ watch. When you can use your phone at least 3 years, commercial ads will manipulate you to buy a newer version of phone every year. Even you don’t have the money to buy it, they will manipulate you buy with credit card loan. People are buying house, car, jewelry everything with load. And their loan is increasing day by day. It seems like they have to buy the whole world but their need never ends. So where is the happiness?

Here comes the concept of minimalism. The concept is very simple. Whatever is your basic need, try to achieve them. When your need is over forget about luxury. And finally, never compare with anyone else. Everything more than need is poisonous.

How to Lead a Minimalist Life

There is no such rule to be a minimalist. This is your ultimate choice. And it is individual to everyone. This means you will decide, what your need is. What you should include and what you should exclude. You will be deciding how many clothes to keep in your closet. How many furniture will take place in your house? How big will be your lovely home? This is a simple concept. Take the necessary thing and avoid excessive demand. Don’t rush to buy on a Black Friday sale offer. Don’t try to buy all the new gadgets available now. Don’t be upset not having a life like a celebrity. Remember celebrity lifestyle is totally fake. What you are watching on social media all the day is not real. Try avoid them. Try to learn who your real friend is. Spend time with them. You don’t need 2000 friends on social media. 5 real friend is enough for your entire life. Give priority to your family and don’t spend overtime in your office. You may need money. But money can’t bring back you time you could spend with your family. Make your life simple. Find your inner peace. You don’t have to achieve all the thing in this world.

Some people think, is it really possible to be a minimalist when you have family and kids? The answer is Yes. It is very much possible and it is important to teach your kids minimalism. If you can teach them properly how to be a minimalist, they will find their path to happiness in it.

Finally, the last and most important thing is be happy. Lead a happy life with a lovely family. So that you won’t regret alone with a dog at the age of 75 that, “I could have a happy family, but I choose money over a family”. Life is beautiful my friends!!!
