From Hills to Sea, a 100$ Budget Tour in 2025 Part – 1

Sajek Valley Bangladesh

Yes you’ve heard me right. You can make a 4 days 5 nights tour plan from Hills to Sea within a hundred dollar budget. Yes this is possible in 2025. This is probably my most exciting tour plan that I am going to share with you. There are a lots of people who likes a budget tour or solo tour. Sometimes they hesitate to be a solo traveler because it might get expensive. You may have to book a whole a room instead of rent a single bed room or you may have to take a local taxi where you need only one seat. Yeah, this is true. But today I will share a 100$ solo or couple tour plan with you. I will share all the cost in BDT (Bangladeshi Taka). But at the end of this article I will tell you the sum of the total cost and you can convert it in dollar.

This tour plan covers two most amazing tourist spot in Bangladesh, Sajek and Cox’s Bazar. It will be a 2 chapter article. In the first chapter I will brief discuss about the Sajek tour. And in the second chapter we will explore Cox’s Bazar. At first let me introduce with you Sajek. Sajek Valley is a most astonishing tourist spot in Bangladesh situated among the hills of the Kasalong range of mountains in Baghaichhari Upazila in the Rangamati District. Situated at 1800 feet above sea leave Sajek Valley is knows as Queen of Hills & Roof of Rangamati. The amazing thing to see at Sajek is the sunrise from Sajek Valley. Just think, you are at your hotel room and white, foggy clouds are passing through you. No words can express the actual beauty of this view. You can only feel it from the core of your heart. The next is Cox’s Bazar. There is nothing new to introduce with you of Cox’s Bazar. You guys already know it. Because this is the third largest sea beach in the world and largest sea beach in the Asia. You can’t get another 120 Kilometer long sea beach in the Asia.

At this point let’s start the journey with me. We will begin from the Sajek. The first thing is to buy bus ticket from Dhaka to Khagrachari (district in Bangladesh). Though Sajek is located in Rangamati district but we will go there from Khagrachari district because it’s easy. Non Ac bus ticket is only 750 taka in BDT and AC bus is 1600. Let’s book an AC bus because I wish to make your journey comfortable. The journey will begin at night (between 10-11 PM). Actually this is the first night of this tour.

Day 1 Plan: At the early morning 5:30 to 6:00 AM you will reach at Khagrachari Dighinala bus stand. After arrival the first thing you should do is to buy a bus ticket (Shanti Paribahan, a local bus company) from Khagrachari to Cox’s Bazar for next day (9:30 – 10:00 PM). It will cost only 720 taka. Now we are ready to go. Take your breakfast at a local restaurant. You know life in Bangladesh is so cheap. You can have your breakfast at only 50 taka. Then we will book a transport for our Sajek tour. Three ways to visit Sajek. The first one is shared “Chander Gari (local SUV)”. Any solo traveler or a couple traveler can talk to the counter and tell them you need only one or two seats not the whole car. They will manage. They have a lots of package. But from my point of view, the best package is Round trip with one night stay at Sajek. It will cost you only 1000 taka per person. Just book this and the rest will do the car driver. He will take you to the Sajek Valley, Lusai village, Konglak Hills and every spot you can cover within the one night stay trip. Also there are other ways. Anyone can grab a CNG Autorickshaw (local taxi) for travelling Sajek. At least 3 person can sit in a CNG Autorickshaw. And the last option is to take a bike. Anyway, you are all set and enjoy the first day at Sajek. After you reached there, first thing you should do is book for a meal package at any restaurant you like. There are a lot of package available. You can book for the whole day package (3 meal. Lunch and dinner for that day. And breakfast for the next day). Or you can choose any single meal. But my suggestion would be book for a whole day package. Try the local recipe like bamboo chicken or bamboo biriyani for lunch. And tell them for a BBQ meal at night.

One thing to mention. You should book for a hotel room before you start your journey. Maybe 2 to 3 days prior. An open-view double-bed room (for 2 person) will cost you around 1500 taka. So 750 taka for each person is enough to stay one night. Keep note of an important information. If you ever reached at Sajek without booking a room and you are finding any room, go to the Lusai Village. Ask for a room to the local people. They will give you a room at much cheap price.

Day 2 Plan: The next day the first thing you should do is to enjoy the sunrise. You can do this from your room or go to the nearby hills. Trust me you will feel that the money you spent worth it. Then go grab your breakfast and take a solo walk. After a while, come back to Dighinala bus stand with your rented “Chander Gari”. At Dighinala Bazar find a restaurant and finish your lunch. Then you can find some local bus or CNG Autorickshaw. Take one and go to Alutila Cave. Spend the afternoon there. After that, take a local transport and go to Matiranga. There you can have your dinner and take a walk to local bazar. Then find the nearby Shanti Paribahan bus counter and tell them you have a ticket to Cox’s Bazar and you want to travel from there. When your bus arrives there from Dighinala, start your journey to Cox’s Bazar.

This was the part 1 of this tour and this was all about Sajek. In the next part we will start from Cox’s Bazar. Stay with me Guys. Happy Travelling!!!
