In my previous article I wrote about the excitement about surfing and I presented you top 5 surfing spot in Hawaii. Since surfing is not a regular activity you need preparation about it. You need some training and some gear to get prepared. Because you can’t surf with your regular apparel. You need special kind of wetsuit that makes you ready for surfing. Also you need some other stuff like sunscreen or surf bag. I am going to talk about these kind of stuff in part by part that will help you in your surfing. Today I will present you some essential stuff for men. But trust me, I will come back with the same stuff for women. So let’s begin with your apparel.
Your surfing wetsuit should have 4 major feature.
- Flexibility: Your wetsuit should be flexible so you can move your hands and feet with ease. It will give you comfort during your surfing so you can paddle easily. Another thing is, if your wetsuit is flexible you can wear it or take it off without anyone’s help. Flexibility depends on the thickness of the material. More thick means less flexible.
- Heat: The main reason for a wetsuit is to keep you warm in the water. So that you can surf for a long time and don’t get clod. Because if you caught by cold on the first day all your fun will be gone. So this is super important. But the fact to remind is, more thick the material means warmer it will be.
- Long Lasting: Of course this is important. Because you are going to spend your money. So you need your wetsuit last for a longer period of time. Besides this, most people surf in their holiday and keep it for the rest of the year. So your wetsuit should last long so that you can use it following years. Of course you can also sell your used wetsuit if it is in good condition.
- Suitable: Finally fitting. Your wetsuit should fit perfectly with your body. If it is lose or tight you will lose your focus during surfing and it might be a reason for an accident. Style or good looking is a matter of concern too.
